Jennifer Lopez Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision at East Alondra Boulevard and South Bullis Road
COMPTON, CA (May 8, 2019) – A woman died Monday night in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of East Alondra Boulevard and South Bullis Road.
The two-car crash happened around 8:50 p.m. Reports say Jennifer Lopez was driving eastbound on East Alondra Boulevard in a black Nissan Altima.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, a southbound blue Mitsubishi Montero blew through a stop sign at South Bullis Road and struck the victim’s vehicle at the intersection.
A surveillance video captured the heartbreaking moment of impact that claimed the 20-year-old woman’s life.
Following the accident, the Mitsubishi driver fled the scene, and paramedics arrived to extricate Lopez. However, she died shortly after due to her injuries.
Family and friends are mourning and pleading for the hit-and-run driver to turn him or herself in.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Danny Martinez, the driver could face a felony hit-and-run charge or vehicular manslaughter.
