Hit-and-Run Driver Davion Culver Arrested in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in California City
CALIFORNIA CITY, CA (December 30, 2019) – A man died in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash Monday morning in California City.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 7000 block of California City Boulevard, just between Yerba Boulevard and Victor Way.
According to the CHP, the man was walking on the roadway when a vehicle struck him. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as Jeffery Wayne Mills, 41, a California City resident.
The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Davion Roberson-Culver, reportedly fled the scene on foot without rendering aid.
Police located Culver about 3 and a half hours later and arrested him. An investigation is still ongoing.
