Jean Macke, 89, Killed in Crash on Highway 50 [Pollock Pines, CA]

Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Collision near Fresh Pond

 
POLLOCK PINES, CA (February 6, 2020) – The authorities identified Jean Macke, 89, as the motorist killed in a crash on Highway 50 westbound on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Fresh Pond.
 
Reports showed that Macke’s 2014 Ford Escape crossed over into the westbound lane after approaching a slight curve in the road. She then crashed into a 2013 Toyota Sienna.
 
An attending coroner said that Macke died at the hospital.
 
The driver of the Toyota, Silun Xie, and the passenger, Xumin Yang, were both taken to a nearby hospital. They suffered major injuries in the incident.
 
No other information was released. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
