Jaylene Aguirre Airlifted in DUI Crash in Hemet

 
Hemet, CA (December 28, 2020) – On Christmas Day, 16-year-old Jaylene Aguirre was critically injured in a DUI and hit-and-run crash in Hemet.
 
The incident took place around 9 p.m. when Aguirre and her boyfriend were riding his new mini bike and were struck by a driver who immediately left the scene.
 
Immediately, the rescuers airlifted Jaylene Aguirre to Loma Linda Hospital.
 
She sustained multiple broken bones, lacerations all over her body, and internal bleeding in her head according to Frank Aguirre, Jaylene’s father.
 
The suspect driver who crashed with them is still at-large. Authorities believe the suspected vehicle is a gray Toyota truck with possible front-end damage.
 
“At this point, I am not aware of any evidence to support that DUI was involved,” Officer Tabor said.
 
Moreover, Aguirre’s father said she has not regained consciousness yet.
 
“She’s a 16-year-old girl who has the biggest heart and is such a positive person to be with,” Frank said. “It feels like a bad nightmare.”
 
Furthermore, Aguirre’s father said that the whole family was still recovering from COVID-19.
 
He created a GoFundMe page asking for donations to help with the hospital bills.
