25-Year-Old Jay Drake Murrey Dead after Head-On Crash on US 54 in El Paso

El Paso, TX (April 4, 2023) – 25-year-old Jay Drake Murrey died in a head-on crash on U.S. 54 north of Carrizozo, New Mexico, on Monday morning.

The fatal crash on US 54 in El Paso happened around 9 a.m. at about milepost 130 on April 3.

New Mexico Police said Murrey, of Nottingham, New Hampshire, was traveling south on U.S. 54 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Kenworth semi-truck driven by a 50-year-old man. 

Murrey died at the crash scene. 

EMS transported the truck driver to a local hospital in unknown condition. 

No additional information is immediately available.
