Construction Worker Jay Ayers Dies at New Casino in Cathedral City
Cathedral City, CA (December 8, 2020) – On Monday, 41-year-old Jay Ayers of Temecula died in an industrial accident at the Agua Caliente Casino.
The accident happened at about 5:20 a.m., wherein authorities pronounced him dead.
The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians said the victim was a worker from the Raymond Group, who is a sub-contractor of the Penta Building Group.
“We work extremely hard to prevent a day like this,” said John Cannito, President of the Penta Building Group. “We are doing everything we can to support the family.”
Also, the group said that counseling services are available to workers.
The casino just opened in November after a year of construction.
