Jaspreet Singh Dead,3 Injured in Collision near Sprague
LINCOLN COUNTY, WA (December 12, 2018) – A 23-year-old man from Tracy was killed in a two-semi truck crash on 90 Freeway early Wednesday morning. Police have identified the victim as Jaspreet Singh.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:30 AM, about five miles east of Sprague.
Officials stated that a semi-truck traveling westbound was driving too fast for the slick road conditions when it lost control and jackknifed, blocking all lanes. The second vehicle a Volvo semi was unable to stop, striking the truck. Both vehicles came to rest blocking both a lane and shoulder.
First responders arrived at the crash site and pronounced Singh dead at the scene. His 23-year-old passenger, Harjit Singh from Sacramento, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center. His medical condition is unclear at this time.
Authorities stated that the Volvo driver, 26-year-old Dachi Gogoladze from Deer Park, suffered major injuries and was airlifted by Life Flight. His passenger, 45-year-old David Janiashvili from Brooklyn, was also transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Janiashvili’s injuries are currently unknown.
Both westbound lanes on the 90 Freeway were shut down due to the collision, while clearing operations and preliminary investigation took place in the area. They reopened at around 6:00 AM.
No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
