Jason Yu Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Northeast 145th Street at 17th Avenue Northeast
SHORELINE, WA (May 8, 2019) – A 23-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident Monday night on Northeast 145th Street at 17th Avenue Northeast.
According to State Police, Jason C. Yu was riding eastbound along 145th Street when he collided with another vehicle.
Washington State Patrol stated that a westbound Honda was attempting a left turn onto 17th Avenue Northeast from Northeast 145th Street. Both vehicles ended up colliding at the intersection.
According to witnesses, the 52-year-old Seattle woman operating the Honda had plenty of time to make the maneuver but due to the speeds at which the motorcyclist was traveling, the crash occurred.
Passersby attempted CPR on Yu before paramedics arrived and took over. Shortly after, they transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.
The Honda driver escaped injury, say reports, and the liabilities of this crash remain unclear.
