James Forsyth Charged in DUI Major-Injury Pedestrian Accident at Niguel Road and Alicia Parkway
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (July 11, 2019) – A DUI driver struck and injured a pedestrian at Niguel Road at Alicia Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. The unidentified male victim still remains in critical condition at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
Reports also noted that James Daniel Forsyth had a blood alcohol level of .10 when he struck the victim. In addition, the 54-year-old allegedly had oxycodone and alprazolam on him as well.
As the victim fights for his life, Forsyth pleads not guilty to DUI and causing injury among other charges. Officials are currently holding him on a $1 million bail and a July 30 court date.
The surrounding area was also closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
