Jacob Titus Fights for His Life Following T-Bone Accident With Big Rig at Highway 99 and East Evans Reimer Road
GRIDLEY, CA (January 13, 2020)—An 18-year-old is fighting for his life after Thursday’s broadside collision with a big rig at Highway 99 and East Evans Reimer Road left him hospitalized.
The California Highway Patrol officers say around 7 a.m., a big rig traveling north on Highway 99 collided with Jacob Titus‘ Subaru Outback. The Subaru had been heading westbound on Evans Reimer Road, say reports.
Due to the accident, Titus suffered multiple fractures and a collapsed lung. According to the teen’s father Jesse, Jacob also lost a finger and had already undergone heart surgery and several brain surgeries.
Investigators are looking into several factors that played a role in the car crash including weather; dense fog might have played an integral role in the accident.
The friends and family of Jacob—who loved ones say is an avid bull rider and member of the Lassen Community College rodeo team as a saddle bronc and bareback rider—have created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his care.
