Jackie Roberts-Barron and Desiree Ramirez Injured in Fatal T-Bone Crash on Powhatan Road at Central Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (November 29, 2018) –A 57-year-old Apple Valley woman was killed, and two others were injured early Wednesday following a broadside collision on Powhatan Road at Central Road.
The fatal victim has not been identified due to a pending family notification. News reports say that the 57-year-old woman was driving a black Honda Civic westbound on Powhatan Road and had failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Central Road for unknown reasons.
The vehicle was then broadsided by a northbound traveling 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by 34-year-old Jackie Roberts-Barron of Apple Valley.
According to a press release, both vehicles collided and came to a rest on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Officials with the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, Apple Valley Fire Protection District personnel and EMTs responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Civic dead. The victim’s passenger – 43-year-old Desiree Ramirez of Apple Valley – suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment while Roberts-Barron was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital
Authorities are investigating this case further to determine the liabilities and circumstances.
