J Calderon of Sunnyside Dies in Vanbelle Road DUI Collision [Sunnyside, CA]

Sunnyside, CA (March 9, 2022) -On Monday, 44-year-old J Calderon of Sunnyside lost his life in a DUI crash on Vanbelle Road.

It was minutes before 5:40 p.m. when the collision happened near Washout Road.

When the responding officers arrived, they located a white Nissan pickup in the canal.

Unfortunately, Calderon died at the crash scene.

Moreover, police say the other vehicle’s driver was stumbling around nearby.

Investigators said Calderon was northbound on Washout Road.

At the same time, 26-year-old David Gomez-Perez missed the stop sign and collided with Calderon.

Meanwhile, Gomez-Perez admitted to the authorities that he drank 4-5 beers and used cocaine hours before the collision.

The authorities charged Gomez-Perez with vehicular homicide.
