Collision South of North Avenue Kills 24-Year-Old Passenger
Modesto, CA (July 29, 2022) – On July 20, 24-year-old Isaiah Martinez of Modesto lost his life in a suspected DUI Crash on Finney Road.
The fatal collision took place minutes past 11 p.m. south of North Avenue.
According to the investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling southbound at high speed. Suddenly, the vehicle drifted into the northbound lane and the driver overcorrected.
As a result, the Suburban left the west side of the roadway and crashed into a fence.
Afterward, the vehicle continued into an orchard and struck multiple trees and a guy wire before it finally rested on its left side.
Isaiah Martinez was a passenger in the vehicle. He sustained major injuries and lost his life at Doctors Medical Center.
Officers say Martinez was not wearing a seat belt during the collision.
Moreover, the rescuers took the 25-year-old driver to Memorial Medical Center with injuries.
The authorities did not provide the names of the driver and a second passenger. Investigating officers said they consider alcohol as a factor in the collision South of North Avenue.
