Interstate 80 18-Vehicle Collision Injures 5 People [Placer County, CA]

Multi-Vehicle Crash at Drum Forebay Road Results in Multiple Injuries

Placer County, CA (February 25, 2023) On Friday afternoon, an 18-vehicle collision along Interstate 80 injured 5 people.

Cal Fire says that the multi-vehicle crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 at Drum Forebay Road.

Reports say that the crash involved a total of 18 vehicles. Officials say that 5 people sustained unspecified level of injuries.

Authorities closed westbound I-80 at Truckee due to the multi-vehicle crash.

At this officials are investigating the 18-vehicle collision and it is not clear if weather played a part in the crash.
