Honda Driver Dies in Big Rig Collision Near Nees Avenue
Madera, CA (August 5, 2022) On Friday, a 38-year-old Honda driver from Mendota died after a 3-Vehicle collision on Interstate 5.
The California Highway Patrol says that the fatal collision happened around noon near the Nees Avenue off-ramp.
Reports say that a Hyundai stopped at a sign on the off-ramp of I-5 was struck by the westbound Honda. Afterward, a big rig broadsided the Honda. The impact threw the Honda off the road and fell down a ditch.
Officials say that the Mendota man died at the scene. Meanwhile, it is not known if the 17-year-old Hyundai driver from Los Angeles and big rig driver suffered injuries.
Authorities are investigating the details of the crash and have not released further information about the incident.
