Riverbank, CA (November 12, 2024) On Sunday evening, a horrific traffic crash on Highway 108 left a 47-year-old Modesto man dead and 4 others hurt.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal incident happened at about 6:15 p.m. on Highway 108, west of Snedigar Road.

Reports say that the 47-year-old Modesto man driving a Ford van caused a fatal crash Sunday evening near Riverbank by crossing double yellow lines and colliding head-on with a 2024 GMC pickup.

The impact left the GMC driver and three passengers injured, with their injuries ranging from minor to major. All were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, the Ford van driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP confirmed that everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. However, investigators have yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
