BELLINGHAM, WA (April 1, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 and Iowa Street led to injuries.
 
The authorities received a report of the crash at around 3:25 p.m. Moreover, it happened on northbound Interstate 5 and Iowa Street on-ramp.
 
The initial investigation revealed that an SUV towing a trailer traveled north in the left lane. Meanwhile, a Toyota Camry sedan headed north in the right lane, said Trooper Rocky Oliphant.
 
As a result, the SUV lost control and crashed with the Toyota. Moreover, both vehicles steered to the right and went in the grassy area between the on-ramp and main I-5 lanes.
 
Meanwhile, the passengers in the vehicles sustained minor injuries.
 
Also, the authorities found out that the trailer had been stolen from a location about 7 miles south of the incident.
 
The trailer’s owner was hauling a load when they noticed that part of the load went missing and might have fallen off. Then, they detached the trailer and left it on the side of I-5 to find what had fallen off. Then, they eventually found the lost part and noticed that the trailer was missing upon returning to where it was left.
 
The SUV who towed the trailer received an infraction for improper lane usage for coming out of his lane and colliding with the Toyota.
