SPRING VALLEY, CA (July 15, 2021) – Tuesday night, authorities reported injuries in a DUI crash on Jamacha Road and Kempton Street.
 
According to California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Jeff Christy, the incident happened at around 6:15 p.m. Moreover, it occurred at the intersection of Jamacha Road and Kempton Street.
 
Reports revealed that an eastbound 1998 Mitsubishi Montero rear-ended a 2000 GMC Sierra. After the initial crash, the Mitsubishi turned westbound on Jamacha Road, ran a red light, and struck an eastbound 2012 Kia Sorrento. The Sorrento was attempting to turn left towards State Route 125 when the crash happened.
 
Furthermore, the force of the crash pushed the Mitsubishi to roll over to its side. The SUV started catching fire with its driver still inside.
 
Moreover, witnesses rushed to the SUV, pushed it onto its four wheels. Then, they extricated the driver who failed to wear a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the Mitsubishi driver to a hospital with major injuries. Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Also, officials said that other involved parties sustained minor injuries in the incident.
