At Least 1 Injured in Multi-Car Crash in Pleasant Hill
PLEASANT HILL, CA (December 3, 2019)—At least one person suffered an injury in Monday’s four-car 680 Freeway crash near Monument Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 5:13 p.m. crash occurred on the southbound side of the freeway. Under unknown circumstances, a Toyota, a Lexus, a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and a Volkswagen vehicle collided.
As a result of the crash, all vehicles ended up in a ditch on the right side of the road. In the streets nearby, shards of glass littered the scene.
Shortly after, a tow truck and a responding fire truck arrived to tend to those injured and the disabled vehicles.
It’s unclear what drove the cars to crash but investigators are diving in to learn more.
Drivers are becoming more distracted than ever on the road. We must do our part in maintaining a safe roadway system by isolating our attention on driving, never using our smartphones while behind the wheel and slowing down in busy intersections and areas known for pedestrian activity.
