SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 19, 2024) – Wednesday, a startling traffic crash on Loop 410 near East Houston Street led to injuries.

The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on Loop 410 near the East Houston Street exit.

Police reported that a car stopped in the middle of the road was struck by a semi-truck. The woman inside believed to be in her 20s, was unresponsive after being rescued from the vehicle and was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver cooperated with authorities but was later taken to the hospital. The crash led to a highway closure due to leaking fuel, according to a police email.

Traffic congestion extended for miles, reaching Rigsby Avenue and South WW White, but began to clear around 9:15 a.m.
