Lanes Blocked in Newhall Auto Accident on 5 Freeway near Hasley Canyon Road

NEWHALL, CA (July 26, 2023) – Tuesday morning, authorities reported injuries following a startling rollover crash on 5 Freeway near Hasley Canyon Road.

The incident happened at around 10:50 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway north of Hasley Canyon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office spokesperson Officer Josh Greengard, the incident involved three vehicles, including a Caltrans vehicle that overturned.

Moreover, officers confirmed that injuries were sustained in the crash.

Furthermore, the crash closed the no. 1 and 2 lanes on the northbound 5 Freeway from Highway 126 to the south of Parker Road. All lanes have long since reopened.

At this time, the cause of the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
