2 People Hurt in Palmyra Traffic Crash on Highway 61
PALMYRA, MO (December 3, 2024) – Saturday morning, a startling auto accident on Highway 61 led to injuries.
The incident happened at 11:50 a.m. on Highway 61, north of Palmyra.
According to reports, as a 2013 Toyota Tacoma traveled south on Highway 61, it lost control on a snow and ice-covered bridge, eventually hitting it.
A 33-year-old man from South Haven, Mississippi, suffered moderate injuries, while a 33-year-old woman, also from South Haven, and a passenger in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries.
Both were wearing seat belts during the crash. Marion County Ambulance transported them to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle, heavily damaged, was towed by Part’s Towing. Assistance at the scene came from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Palmyra Fire Department.
