MERCED, CA (October 11, 2023) – Monday night, a disastrous traffic crash on Highway 99 near 16th Street led to injuries.

The incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. on Highway 99, between 16th Street and Franklin Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig failed to stop in time and collided with stalled traffic ahead.

Moreover, the crash involved multiple vehicles and at least 6 to 7 people sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, the crash closed the number two lane of Highway 99, but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
