Woman Hospitalized after Head-on Crash on Old Highway 9
Rochester, WA (August 7, 2020) – Thursday evening, a woman from Centralia sustained injuries after a head-on crash on Old Highway 9.
The incident happened at about 5 p.m. on August 6. Authorities located a four-door pickup truck and a minivan carrying four children, and a woman crashed into an embankment.
The head-on collision occurred when the pickup driver was heading northwest on Old Highway 9 at the same time the minivan was heading southeast. The pickup crossed into the highway’s center lane, smashing into the front driver’s side of the minivan.
As a result, the woman driving the minivan airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The four children in the minivan and the man driving the pick up sustained minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
Meanwhile, Old Highway 9 was of debris after two hours.
Furthermore, the truck driver is considered the inciting offender and could face charges of driving with a suspended license in the second-degree and issued a citation for driving without insurance.
