Houston Teamer Struck, Injured by Hit-and-Run Motorist on Grand Avenue Near Cass Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 1, 2019) – A marine veteran and actor is recovering from severe injuries after he was struck by a hit-and-run motorist on Grand Avenue near Cass Street on Jan. 20.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. when Houston Teamer was riding his scooter, headed to a restaurant to meet his girlfriend. As he was riding in the bike lane eastbound on Grand Avenue, a champagne or silver-colored vehicle on his left struck him on the side, ejecting him off his scooter.
Teamer suffered a concussion and broken bones in his eye socket, cheekbones and nose. Three permanent metal plates were inserted into his face due to his broken jaw.
According to witnesses, the driver involved failed to stop and provide aid. Officers are asking witnesses to come forward if they know anything.
