1 Dead in Palm Desert Auto Accident on Interstate 10 near Washington Street

PALM DESERT, CA (October 8, 2023) – Saturday morning, a horrific vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Washington Street killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 12:37 a.m. on the eastbound Interstate 10 near Washington Street, Officer Perez of the California Highway Patrol said.

According to reports, CHP officers were responding to a different crash on eastbound I-10. Then, they tried avoiding crashing into the Toyota. Unfortunately, another vehicle driving behind the CHP unit failed to maneuver around it and collided with the Toyota.

That vehicle was occupied by a 24-year-old man who succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Then, the authorities arrested the Toyota’s male driver on suspicion of driving under the influence and murder, according to Perez. However, no further information was available about his identity.

Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the occupant of the big rig sustained any injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
