1 Person Dead in Los Alamitos Auto Accident on 605 Freeway and Katella Avenue

LOS ALAMITOS, CA (October 15, 2023) – Saturday morning, a horrific two-vehicle crash on 605 Freeway and Katella Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:50 a.m. on the northbound San Gabriel River 605 Freeway at the Katella Avenue offramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a black vehicle struck a white vehicle for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the white vehicle to go off the ramp, trapping one person inside, and ejecting another person into the roadway.

Moreover, officers confirmed that one person died in the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
