BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 24, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a horrific pedestrian crash on Rosedale Highway and Rudd Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. on Rosedale Highway and Rudd Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado struck a female pedestrian who crossed the roadway outside a marked crosswalk and into the path of the vehicle. Then, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and called 911.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 30-year-old female pedestrian, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
