BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 28, 2023) – Tuesday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on Hughes Lane and Valorie Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hughes Lane and Valorie Avenue.

When the authorities responded to the scene, they located a man lying on the road with major injuries.

According to officials, the crash occurred as the vehicle traveled south on Hughes Lane. Then, it hit the pedestrian.

After the crash, responders took the unidentified man to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the police investigation. Moreover, the authorities ruled out drug or alcohol impairment as a factor for the driver of the car.
