36-Year-Old Man Dead in Stockton Pedestrian Accident on Fremont Street near Shasta Avenue

STOCKTON, CA (November 1, 2023) – Monday morning, a horrific hit-and-run crash on Fremont Street near Shasta Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 4:50 a.m. when a 36-year-old was walking on Fremont Street in east Stockton, near Shasta Avenue. Then, a vehicle hit him which led to his death.

When the authorities arrived, the driver had already fled the scene. Meanwhile, officer David Scott said that the investigators suspect that the involved vehicle was a dark-colored SUV.

Officers also said that the crash may have occurred in the right westbound lane, with markings painted on the pavement.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
