1 Person Dead in Denton County Traffic Accident on US Highway 377 near Ike Byrom Road

DENTON COUNTY, TX (April 25, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a horrific head-on crash on US Highway 377 near Ike Byrom Road killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 5:56 p.m. in the 5000 block of US Highway 377 near the intersection of Ike Byrom Road.

According to the Krugerville Police Department, a sedan and an SUV collided head-on for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash caused the SUV to roll over, ejecting the driver of the vehicle in the process.

Responders confirmed that the driver of the sedan died at the scene. Also, the Aubrey Fire/EMS Department rushed the SUV driver and a young passenger of the vehicle to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash closed U.S. Highway 377 for a couple of hours but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Krugerville Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
