1 Person Dead in Houston DUI Accident on Silber Road near Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX (December 17, 2023) – Friday afternoon, a horrific DUI crash on Silber Road near Katy Freeway killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. on Silber Road underneath the Katy Freeway.

According to the Houston Police Department, a vehicle lost control and ran over a male pedestrian who is believed to be a homeless person. Then, workers at a nearby Jack in the Box restaurant stopped the driver of the vehicle who attempted to flee the scene on foot after the crash.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the pedestrian died in the incident.

Furthermore, authorities arrested the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the HPD continued to investigate the crash.
