2 Dead in Perris Auto Accident on State Route 74 and 7th Street

PERRIS, CA (August 23, 2023) – Sunday night, a horrific 2-vehicle crash on State Route 74 and 7th Street killed 2 people.

The incident happened at 11:34 p.m. on State Route 74 and 7th Street.

According to reports, a 2008 Honda CRV, driven by a 20-year-old Lake Elsinore man, and a Nissan Sentra, driven by a 23-year-old Costa Mesa woman collided at the intersection.

Reports revealed that the Honda CRV traveled on east State Route 74, just west of 7th Street in the #1 lane at an unknown speed. Then, the Nissan Sentra drove westbound SR-74 just west of 7th Street in the #2 lane at an unknown speed, approaching the Honda CRV’s location.

However, the male driver let his Honda CRV travel across the painted solid double yellow lines. Then, the Honda CRV went into the westbound traffic lanes of SR-74. Eventually, the Honda CRV crashed head-on with the Nissan Sentra.

Then, both vehicles came to rest their wheels blocking traffic traffic lanes.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Cal Fire both came to the scene.

Then, the male driver of the Honda CRV and the female driver of the Nissan Sentra were declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Furthermore, the Temecula Area handles the crash investigation.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
