Pedestrian Struck, Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (January 17, 2020)—A woman in her mid-20s suffered severe injuries in Thursday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 3rd Street and Atlantic Avenue.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers located the woman around 8:40 p.m., finding her breathing yet unconscious on the street. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly after and rendered aid.
Investigating officers saw no vehicle at the scene, implicating that a hit-and-run driver most likely struck her. Police believe from the evidence that the suspect vehicle is a dark blue or black four-door Honda model.
In the wake of the accident, police closed the intersection for an hour and a half before re-opening it at 10:00 p.m.
Leaving the scene of a collision results in more problematic circumstances for you, if caught. If you’re involved in an accident, stay at the scene, remain calm and check on those involved. Panic may find you, but it’s always best to remain cool and wait for officers. You can face more devastating repercussions if you decide to leave, which, you’ll find, is not worth the trouble.
