2 People Hurt in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident on Jones and Market Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 8, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a disastrous hit-and-run crash on Jones and Market Street injured two people.
The incident started when a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Then, the vehicle continued traveling recklessly and was attempted to be pulled over by SFPD near Leavenworth and Eddy streets, but to no avail.
According to reports, the vehicle struck another pedestrian, a 14-year-old girl near the 2100 block of Powell Street, and fled again afterward.
Moreover, responders transported the first victim with non-life-threatening injuries. Then, paramedics rushed the second victim, a 14-year-old girl, to a hospital with a fractured shoulder and ankle.
Furthermore, officers managed to arrest the suspect at Green and Embarcadero streets without further incident.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the SFPD continued to investigate the crash.
