Highway 54 Multi-Vehicle Collision Results in Injuries [Chula Vista, CA]

Injuries Reported in Chain-Reaction Crash on State Route 54

(August 7, 2022) On Saturday evening, several people were injured after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 54.

According to the CHP, the chain-reaction crash happened at around 8:33 p.m. east of the Briarwood Road exit on SR-54

Reports say that the collision started with 2 cars, then several other vehicles collided into the wreck. Both the first 2 vehicles ended up on their roof.

Paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene and helped victims out of their vehicles.

Furthermore, the crash involved a red Ford Mustang, a black pickup truck, and a Lexus.

Rescuers extricated a man from one of the wrecked vehicles, EMS and fire worked to cut his leg free. An ambulance transported the patient to a hospital.

CHP is investigating to find the probable cause for the crash.
