Helen Gomez Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Smilax Road Near Highway 78

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (April 22, 2019) – A San Marcos woman died last week in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Smilax Road near Highway 78.
 
According to reports, Helen Gomez lost her life when a hit-and-run driver in a vehicle, described as a silver car, struck her.
 
The incident unfolded around 8:20 p.m. Gomez and her 14-year-old dog, Seth, were walking along Smilax Road when things took a turn for the worse.
 
The 60-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital where loved ones stayed with her by her side.
 
Unfortunately, due to the severity of her injuries, Gomez died at the hospital.
