Hector Larios Arrested, 2-Year-Old Girl Hurt after Santa Rosa Hit-and-Run Crash
SANTA ROSA, CA (July 12, 2019) — Officers arrested Hector Larios after he struck a toddler in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday, July 11.
The incident happened at 2:41 p.m. on Range Avenue near Coddingtown Mall. After that, authorities responded to the accident and found the child unresponsive in the street. In addition, police stated that the girl was with an adult. However, she ran into the street where the car struck her.
A search for the suspect driver and vehicle led Santa Rosa police to an apartment complex on Range Avenue. As a result, officers found and questioned a person of interest identified as 47-year-old Larios, of Santa Rosa. In addition, police arrested him for felony hit-and-run and felony DUI.
Larios had a record of one prior felony conviction for DUI. In addition, he had three misdemeanor convictions, Santa Rosa police said.
According to authorities, paramedics brought the child victim to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. She is expected to survive. Her identity is not released because of her age, police said.
