Early Morning Hit-and-Run Crash on 880 Freeway in Hayward Leaves 1 Injured

 
HAYWARD, CA (May 10, 2019) – One person was injured following a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning in Hayward.
 
The collision happened around 3:15 a.m. on southbound 880 Freeway at West Winton Avenue off-ramp.
 
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a black Mercedes-Benz with major front-end damage. One patient was also found with a broken leg. That person reportedly hit their head after the crash impact.
 
Paramedics were dispatched to give aid to the injured patient. It was not indicated if the individual if treated at the scene or taken to a hospital.
 
Another vehicle was involved but did not stop following the incident.
 
The damaged Mercedes was towed away from the crash site.
 
Authorities are still investigating the mechanics of the crash and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
