Harry Francis Salata injured in multi-car crash on State Route 99E
Chico, CA (August 11, 2020) – On Thursday, 88-year-old Harry Francis Salata from Corning, and three other people were injured in a crash on State Route 99E.
The crash happened at around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Rowles Road and Lassen Road. The accident left a power pole tipped off and hanging upright by its wires.
Rescuers rushed Salata and his 85-year-old passenger Mary Lynn Salata also from Corning to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. They both sustained major injuries.
Moreover, the driver of the second vehicle, 22-year-old Jessica Marie Elm of Red Bluff suffered minor injuries.
Salata was driving west on Lassen, approaching 99E. He went to the intersection to cross to Rowles Road and straight to Elm’s vehicle. Elm’s car was thrown into a pole.
Meanwhile, 44-year-old Brandy Charlene Booth also of Corning was traveling north on 99E at the same time. She struck a bumper and some of the debris scattered on the road.
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
