1 Person Dead in Oceanside DUI Crash on State Route 76 near Airport Road

OCEANSIDE, CA (June 5, 2023) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Guillermo Sanchez Pacheco after a fatal traffic accident on State Route 76.

The incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. on State Route 76 near Airport Road.

According to Oceanside police spokesperson Jennifer Atenza, an eastbound 2003 Nissan Maxima lost control and struck a large tree.

Moreover, responders pronounced a 30-year-old male rear side passenger of the vehicle, dead at the scene. Also, another passenger of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was not hospitalized.

Furthermore, officers arrested the 29-year-old vehicle driver of Oceanside, on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information became available, the public will be notified.
