GOLETA, CA – Pedestrian Killed after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 101 at Hollister Avenue

Evening Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 in Goleta Ends in Fatality

 
GOLETA, CA (December 7, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle late Friday evening in Goleta.
 
The crash happened around 10:48 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near Hollister Avenue off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking down the off-ramp towards Highway 101 when he was struck by a yellow Toyota Prius. A black vehicle may have also hit the pedestrian.
 
The unidentified victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was possibly carrying a walking stick in one hand prior to the accident, CHP officials said.
 
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The incident remains under investigation.
