Perris, CA (July 27, 2020) – On Saturday, 23-year-old Gilberto Camarena of La Puente died in a pedestrian crash on the 215 Freeway.
 
The fatal accident took place at around 10:50 p.m. near D Street.
 
Before the incident happened, witnesses told a CHP dispatcher that a pedestrian was stumbling on the roadway. Also, he was waving his hands and shouting at passing vehicles.
 
Shortly after, responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, authorities said Camarena was hit by a vehicle on the northbound side of the freeway.
 
Police have not yet determined why he was on the roadway at the time.
 
Meanwhile, further details were not yet available, as authorities are still investigating the crash.
