32-Year-Old Gerardo Sanchez Arrested in 26th Street Pursuit Crash [Lubbock, TX]

Lubbock, TX (January 31, 2024) – The authorities arrested 32-year-old Gerardo Sanchez following a 26th Street pursuit crash Monday night.

It was around 6:40 p.m. when a officers witnessed a car driving recklessly near 19th Street and Albany Avenue. The deputy tried to stop the driver, Gerardo Sanchez, but he sped off.

As a result, the law enforcement started a chase that ended near 26th Street and Milwaukee Avenue.

Sanchez and a 16-year-old got out of the vehicle and ran. Luckily, the authorities were quickly arrested them.

Moreover, a northbound officer on Milwaukee Avenue was struck by another vehicle and deputy’s car flipped. 

The officer incurred minor injuries.

Sanchez is now facing several charges, including reckless driving and evading arrest while the 16-year-old is also charged with evading arrest.
