1 Injured After Tanker Crashes in Madera County
MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 5, 2019)—A driver suffered minor injuries after a gas tanker crashed on Highway 99 near Road 15 Saturday morning.
Due to the accident, crews closed off all southbound lanes of Highway 99.
The incident unfolded when a gas tanker carrying more than 7,500 pounds of fuel flipped on the roadway under unknown circumstances. According to California Highway Patrol, the 35-year-old driver from Tracy veered off the shoulder before the truck overturned around 1 a.m.
The unidentified driver sustained minor injuries, and the accident left asphalt erosion damage on the roadway.
Inferring from preliminary investigations, impairment did not play a role in the accident; however, authorities are questioning the driver to determine the events that led to the crash.
