GRANITE BAY, CA (February 26, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, authorities arrested Gary Benson after a DUI crash near Douglas Boulevard.
 
The incident happened at about 3:50 p.m. near Douglas Boulevard and Sierra College Boulevard. It happened in the parking lot of a Walmart.
 
According to officers, a 2015 Tesla driven by Gary Benson crashed into the Girl Scout cookie stand outside of the store entrance.
 
As a result, a 76-year-old woman sustained major injuries. Meanwhile, two girls ages 9 and 10 sustained moderate injuries. All of them who were struck were transported to a nearby hospital.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Gary Benson on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
Then, officers booked him into the Placer County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence and causing injuries.
