Gabriel Stauring and Two Others Killed in Crash on Sepulveda Boulevard [Manhattan Beach, CA]

Manhattan Beach, CA (November 25, 2021) – On Tuesday, 48-year-old Christian Mendoza, Gabriel Stauring and spouse 40-year-old Katie-Jay Scott, of Redondo Beach, died in a multi-car crash on Sepulveda Boulevard.

The fatal incident took place at about 9:45 p.m. at the intersection with Marine Avenue.

“One vehicle that was traveling at a very high rate of speed, broadsided another, and caused a chain reaction with the other vehicles involved,” Manhattan Beach police Officer Wilbert Pereira said.

When the officers arrived at the crash scene, they pronounced Mendoza, Stauring, and Mendoza, dead.

Moreover, the paramedics rushed three people to local hospitals, including two adults and a child. One of the patients suffered critical injuries and two were sustained serious injuries. Police expect them to survive.

Meanwhile, one of the witnesses said that one of the involved vehicles may have run a red light.

“We do have a couple of witnesses, including some of the survivors involved,” Pereira said.

The authorities are still investigating this fatal crash.
