Gabriel Rios Killed in Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway in Hesperia

Driver Fatally Injured after SUV Overturns South of Oak Hill Road

 
HESPERIA, CA (March 1, 2019) – A man was killed following a rollover crash Friday morning on 15 Freeway in Hesperia.
 
The fatal accident happened along the northbound lanes of the freeway, around 10:12 a.m. First responders arrived to the scene about half a mile South of Oak Hill Road.
 
Medics and troopers found a red Ford Explorer rolled over upon arrival. The vehicle was allegedly traveling north when it overturned for unknown reasons, according to highway patrol.
 
The driver of the SUV, identified as a 57-year-old Gabriel Garcia Rios of Hesperia, was taken to Desert Valley Hospital due to the severity of his wounds. There, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
 
It is currently unclear if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the accident. Officials are still investigating the incident. No further information has been disclosed at this time.
