Francisco Rivas Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision on Parthenia Street and Haskell Avenue
NORTH HILLS, CA (June 18, 2019) – A 48-year-old man died in a two-vehicle DUI crash Sunday morning on Parthenia Street at Haskell Avenue.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:35 a.m.
Reports say a vehicle traveling northbound on Haskell Avenue struck a westbound vehicle on Parthenia Street.
Francisco Hernandez Rivas was the driver of the SUV involved and who died at the scene. The female driver operating the other car – a white Lexus, which reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and caused the crash – walked away from the scene.
According to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department, four other people suffered serious injuries.
Authorities believe alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash since a crack pipe and beer cans were found inside the white Lexus.
Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the whereabouts of the Lexus driver who abandoned her occupants.
We would like to express our deepest thoughts and sympathies to the friends and family of Francisco Hernandez Rivas.
