Coachella Music Festival Worker Dies While Setting up Stage in Indio
INDIO, CA (April 12, 2019) – A Coachella Music Festival worker fell to his death at Monroe Street and Avenue 50 Saturday morning.
The Riverside County coroner’s office has yet to release the victim’s name.
According to Goldenvoice Media Group, which promotes the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the worker had been with the team for 20 years.
Around 9:30 a.m., the lead rigger fell while staging the area in preparation for this weekend’s festival.
The Riverside office of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection further mentions that the employee fell from a roof under unknown circumstances. Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene.
Yet because some details are unclear at this point, investigators are examining the case further. Anyone with insight is encouraged to call authorities.
